The Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai has said that normalcy has been restored in areas that were affected by clashes in Laikipai County after security operations were beefed up in the area.

This comes as schools reopen in the Ol Moran area with low turnout of leaners in going back to school for the first day.

In his weekly engage the IG session on Twitter, Mutyambai said that bandits who had been attacking the locals for the past weeks have been flashed out by multi-agency security team.

“Bandits have been flashed out by a multi-agency security team and normalcy has resumed in the affected areas,” he said in a tweet.

He added that they strive to ensure that normalcy return in Laikipia and its environs and that the operation will continue.

The police boss said that they will engage community leaders and local stakeholders in security and peace keeping to ensure a lasting solutions to the bandit attacks in Laikipia and Baringo.

More high-ranking police officers landed in the area to aid in the ongoing security operation and guarding learning Centres in the area as was directed by the Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i.
